Higher vet fee cover
If you're an Essential Care plan customer, you could upgrade to Standard Care (which has up to £10,000 vet fee cover) or Complete Care (up to £20,000 vet fee cover). Or, if you're a Standard Care customer, you can upgrade to Complete Care.

What is covered by a multi-pet plan?
A multi-pet plan covers the same things as a normal pet insurance plan. The main part of the plan is cover for vet fees to treat your pet for an accident or illness. All our plans also give unlimited 24/7 video vet calls, at no extra cost. Pet insurance won’t cover things like routine procedures, vaccinations or grooming.

Generally, the cost to insure a one or two-year-old pet is much less than the cost of insuring an older pet.
Your insurer may also ask you to pay around 20%-35% of the cost of any claims for pets aged over nine years old. This is called a co-payment.
Most of our plans are available for pets of any age and we ask owners of pets over seven to cover 20% of any claims.
Many people see the cost of their pet insurance increasing over time, and feel that the insurance company is acting unfairly – but higher costs for older pets reflect the fact that visits to the vet are more likely.
Some owners opt to 'self-insure' by paying a fixed amount into a savings account each month so that there is a reserve to draw on if their pet gets sick, instead of continuing to pay the insurance premium. The risk is that you may need vet treatment before your savings have built up or the cost of treatment will be higher than what you've saved.

The excess is the amount of the claim you cover and it’s usually deducted from the payout for your claim. If your pet is under seven we offer a choice of excess, ranging from £69 to £250. There is a £250 excess for our Legal cover. Unlike many other insurance providers, we only take an excess once a policy year rather than on every claim or condition. The excess helps keep the cost of your premium down.
