Planning a trip to the capital with your pup? Luckily there are plenty of dog-friendly activities in London – you just need to know where to look. This time though, we’ve done all the looking for you. Check out our list of the top activities you can do with your pup.

1. Ruislip Lido and Beach, Ruislip

If you’re prepared to hop on the tube or take a drive on a sunny day, this is the only beach in London (zone 6 still counts!) that allows dogs. The uniquely sandy bank by a 60-acre lake in Ruislip Woods makes it a very popular haunt for Londoners when the weather is nice, so show up early if you want a spot! Dogs must remain on-lead on the main beach, but there’s also a special dog beach where they’re allowed to roam free. Plus, the trails in Ruislip Woods make for a great dog-walking day out.

2. Picturehouse Central, Piccadilly Circus

If you want to see the latest blockbuster in central London, there’s no need to leave your furry best friend at home. The Picturehouse chain of cinemas hosts regular dog-friendly viewings of selected popular movies, complete with snacks, water and dog blanketed seats. They also dip the volume a little to cater to your pup’s sensitive hearing. Does it get any more dog-friendly than that? Check out our full review to find out.

3. Richmond Park, Richmond

One of London’s 8 Royal Parks, Richmond Park makes our list due to its 2,500 acres of ancient woodland, herds of deer and scenic gardens. You can explore the beautiful Isabella Plantation with its bright flowers, climb King Henry’s Mound to enjoy the view and wander round the 7 mile Tamsin Trail. The Dogs need to be kept on lead for much of the year because of deer birthing season, but otherwise it’s a great place for a dog walk.

4. Surrey Docks Farm, Rotherhithe

Surrey Docks Farm is a working community farm right on the Thames path. They care for all the usual farm animals and have community gardens where locals learn to grow fruit and vegetables. They also have several beehives, a wildlife garden and much more. A one way route circling their fields is a great dog walk - though dogs need to remain on lead because of the animals.

5. GoBoat, Paddington

Looking for a more unusual way to explore London? Be the captain of your own ship with your dog as your first mate when you book a GoBoat from Paddington. Each boat can take up to 8 people and you don’t need a license or previous experience to set sail. From Paddington you can take in the sights of Regent’s Canal and see a completely different side of the city.
