How is pet travel cover different from standard pet insurance?

Even while your pet’s abroad, we can help with emergency vet treatment and travel costs if they get ill, with EU cover on every plan and worldwide cover on Complete Care. It adds protection specific to travelling if your pet is injured or unwell, covering the cost of accommodation up to your plan’s travel limit, should you need to cancel and can’t get a refund from your provider. This is on top of the usual vet fee cover up to your vet fee limit.

Which pets can be covered by pet travel cover?

Following Brexit, pet passports issued in Great Britain are no longer valid. Pet passports issued in an EU country, or in Northern Ireland, are still valid. The animal health certificate has replaced the pet passport for animals travelling from the UK.

How can I travel to Europe with my pet post-Brexit?

To travel to Europe with your pet, you’ll need to obtain an animal health certificate in the 10 days before you enter the EU. You can obtain an animal health certificate from a vet, but will need to show proof that your pet has been microchipped and show evidence of its vaccination history.
