Ben Newman
Ben is a writer and editor with years of experience in insurance. After spending a long time creating content for some of Britain's biggest brands as part of a marketing agency, Ben began to focus on insurance and hasn't looked back since. When he's not consuming copious cups of tea, you can find him reading a book, daydreaming about having an Australian Shepherd and shouting at Liverpool on the TV.

Rebecca is a companion animal vet who has always had a passion for writing and client communication. Since her graduation from the Royal Veterinary college in 2009 she has gained a wealth of experience in first opinion small animal practice, in both clinical and managerial roles. She currently works in the South West and deals with a variety of routine and emergency appointments, but particularly enjoys medicine cases. Outside of work and writing, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her bouncy flat coated retriever George!

After graduating from the University of Nottingham, Corinne worked in New Zealand for a time before recently returning home. She now works in general practice in South Wales, where she lives with her partner and young daughter. Corinne has experience in small animal medicine and surgery, and enjoys emergency care.

Digby is an experienced journalist in various fields but has specialised in insurance for more than six years. Before joining ManyPets in 2013 he was part of the editorial teams of various magazines, including Retail Week and Drapers. He has a degree in journalism and a cat called Potato.

Derri is a personal finance and insurance writer and editor. After seven years covering all things motoring and banking at GoCompare, Derri joined ManyPets in 2021 to focus on pet health. She has fostered cats and kittens for Blue Cross and Cats Protection and is owned by tabby cat Diggory and two badly behaved dogs.

Dr. Elfenbein received her DVM from the University of California, Davis where she also earned a PhD in Animal Behavior as part of the Veterinary Scientist Training Program.

Oliver is our multi-media wizard. He has worked in pet insurance since 2020 and since joining ManyPets, has built up a relationship with our veterinary relationship team, trainers, behaviourists and a whole host of pet experts to create articles, video and social media posts for pet parents and veterinary experts alike.

Claire Horton-Bussey
Claire Horton-Bussey has been a pet journalist since 1995. She has been editor of Dogs Today magazine and Dogs Monthly magazine, has written for national and international newspapers and magazines, and has authored many books, including Living With a Rescue Cat (in conjunction with Cats Protection) and Jack Russell Terrier: Understanding and Caring for Your Pet. Claire has lived with rescue cats and dogs her entire life and currently shares her home with her husband, two daughters, a Kelpie-Collie rescue dog called Loki and six rescue cats.

Claire joined ManyPets in 2022 as Head of Pet Health Relationships and arrived with a key goal in mind: maintain smooth working relationships between us and vet teams across the country. Claire has over two decades of experience in pet health, working as Head Veterinary Nurse and spending time both in-practice and in nutritional, pharmaceutical and TechEd parts of the pet health space. Outside of work Claire is a keen traveller and you will always find her somewhere on a mountain in winter and on a beach with her beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Reuben before coming home to her Tortoiseshell rescue cat Sabine (who rules the home, of course).

Dr. Jennifer Coates is a writer, editor, and consultant with experience in veterinary medicine, science, animal welfare, conservation, and communications. She has written for outlets including petMD, Chewy, and ManyPets.

As a small animal vet, Liam has worked in first-opinion and referral-level practices. After enjoying educating owners about their pets, Liam dedicated some of his non-clinical time to tutoring students who were preparing for exams or struggling at school. By combining a passion for teaching others and a keen interest in raising awareness about animal health issues, Liam began writing. Writing allows him to raise awareness of important animal health issues outside the consultation room.

After graduating from the University of Nottingham, Holly spent two years as a farm animal vet. She then travelled and volunteered in India, working at neutering clinics and with injured street dogs. Holly now works in small animal practice, balancing this with writing and volunteering with the comms team at Vet Sustain. She's also a marine mammal medic!

Lily qualified from Liverpool University in 2011 and spent five years as a veterinarian in mixed animal practice. As Lily’s passion for exotics and complicated small animal medical cases developed, she stepped into small animal-only practice. By 2018, Lily was leading a busy branch of a large hospital practice with a fantastic team, enjoying working on surgical and medical cases. Since falling poorly in 2021, Lily has found a new passion in medical writing, revealing a talent for sharing medical knowledge and writing with the public.
